Today is a historic day for Custom Goods! Our new division, Custom Specialized Services (CSS), in partnership with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), introduced the first-in-the-nation dedicated Air Centralized Examination Station (A-CES) at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

The new A-CES will replace 87 independent locations previously used to hold packages waiting for inspection by CBP. The goal of both CBP and CSS is to enhance the efficiency, accuracy and timeliness of the screening process.

The 40,000-square-foot facility has over a dozen large loading bays to accommodate deliveries. It is also equipped with a state-the-art X-ray machine that allows CBP agents to look inside a package from all angles without having to open it. With this technology, CBP agents stationed at the facility should be able to process over 15,000 daily shipments, with the goal of moving conforming merchandise quickly and efficiently through the CES, while adhering to CBP’s mission of protecting our national security.
