At Custom Goods, we’re always looking for ways to fine-tune operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy. One area we recently revisited was our shipping label process for an ecommerce client. Previously, our labels were printed in batches and applied later during the order processing stage. While functional, this method introduced opportunities for errors and inconsistencies in labeling.
To improve this, our team took a closer look at the workflow and implemented a key upgrade: automated label peelers integrated directly into our printers. This allowed us to produce labels in high volumes and apply them immediately, eliminating the lag between printing and placement. By applying labels on the spot, we’ve significantly reduced handling steps and improved overall accuracy.
The results speak for themselves. Since making this change, we haven’t had a single instance of a mislabeled single-parcel order. That kind of reliability is critical in ecommerce fulfillment, where even small mistakes can impact customer satisfaction and supply chain efficiency.
At Custom Goods, we believe that attention to detail—especially in seemingly small tasks like label application—makes a big difference. It’s part of our commitment to delivering dependable service every time, and this upgrade is just one example of how we continuously refine our processes to support our partners’ success.
